Intercultural Potential Analysis & Assessments

iMO developed an effective method to analyse and assess the intercultural potentials of your employees. It will enable you to identify core factors that are relevant to the area of human resource development strategies as well as the selection of candidates for a job or an assignment in overseas. The outstanding benefits of this method are:

  • high validity and objectivity achieved by application of various approved methods
  • process efficiency (low expenditure of time)
  • cost efficiency (low costs and high ROI with respect to the so called "human capital" and investment in human resources / strategy)
  • high flexibility (individual design through modular structure)

iMO's intercultural potential analysis combines and integrates methods derived from the qualitative and quantitative research methodology. These are

  • valid psychological (personality-)tests
  • qualitative analysis of interviews
  • qualitative analysis of behavioural observations in simulations
  • orientation giving questionnaires
Duration: Usually one day is sufficient to accomplish the potential analysis. One additional day - depending of the total number of participants - is necessary to feedback.

In addition to half-structured interviews (compiling information about the candidate's experiences, knowledge and coping strategies) and simulations (to observe the candidate's real behaviour in stressful situations) modules of the test battery SCiOPOS© and the Schwartz Value Survey (SVS) are applied. These instruments can help on the one hand to evaluate individual, social and interculturally relevant skills, such as ambiguity tolerance, openness, empathy etc. On the other hand they help to become aware of one's own value orientations, which is of essential importance for the intercultural work.

SCiOPOS© is a computer supported test battery. It serves to optimize decisions with respect to the selection of external or internal candidates and human resource development processes.

The test battery is individually designed according to your specific needs. You may obtain more information about SCiOPOS© and its characteristics here.

The Schwartz Value Survey (SVS) displays 10 motivational value orientations on the individual level and 7 value dimensions on the cultural comparative level. The results provide for example information concerning the compatibility of a candidate's cultural orientations and the expected dominant cultural orientations of the target region or country of the assignment. The SVS profile may just as well provide information about the different value orientations within a multicultural team and their effects on the team's work. Learn more about the Schwartz Value Survey here

Precise training and development plans, staff selection or coaching settings can be accomplished through the results analysis of the applied methods. By this your employees can be deployed according to their competencies and human resource budgets can be planned and applied effectively.
